Denterlein launched a public relations campaign to promote the findings of a new Analysis Group report, funded by the Barr Foundation, on the economic impact of the Commonwealth’s Green Communities Act (GCA). More than 16,000 jobs and $1.2 billion in net economic benefits resulted within its first six years of implementation.
First, Denterlein created messaging documents and conducted briefings with key stakeholders across the state to build public support. Phase two was an organized public announcement that included a Boston Globe exclusive followed by additional media coverage and editorials across the state. The final phase included briefings with the Massachusetts gubernatorial campaigns and the Massachusetts Municipal Association.
The campaign gained considerable attention with state lawmakers and advocates across the state included the report information in their own speeches and clean energy agendas. Our work culminated with a collaborative op-ed by Next Step Living CEO Geoff Chapin in MassINC’s Commonwealth Magazine.
